VE Associates uses CD replication technology that allows high quality printing directly onto the CD face design by utilizing two different printing methods; Silk-Screen imprinting & Photo-Offset imprinting. Most customers choosing our CD face imprinting prefer Silk Screen printing because of the high quality results. Photo offset printing is also an option to imprint CD media because it allows you to exactly reproduce a design or photograph with detailed tinting and shading. The cutting edge replication technology used by VE Associates allows printing artwork or photos directly onto the face of any CD. Silk Screen CD Face Imprinting
A silk screen is prepared by exposing a film to a screen covered in a layer of light-sensitive emulsion. After processing the resulting image is a clear area on the screen which allows the ink through during printing. Most CDs are silk screen printed because very high-quality results are obtained. Silk screen printing can bring the vibrant colors of your CD face to life but detailed shading is best for photo offset imprinting. Due to the fact that silk screens are slightly coarser than litho plates, screen imprinting is generally not suitable where the reproduction of a picture or photo or a design with tinting and shading is required.
Photo Offset CD Face Imprinting
Photo Offset CD imprinting is used when the reproduction of a picture, photo, or a design with tinting and shading is needed on the face of a CD. A commonly used printing process in which printing plates are prepared (usually from films); there are as many plates as there are colors to be printed - usually 4,5 or 6. Each plate picks up ink from a roller, and lays down its color image on the printed object. The quality of our silk screen materials assure that the ink is laid down precisely without smudges or imperfections.
